“I have recently completed my second course taught by Joe Warnke, and I offer these observations. Teaching the course was an ambitious undertaking by Mr. Warnke, as it covered American History-Columbus to The War Between the States, with a very comprehensive syllabus. Having taken another history course taught by Mr. Warnke, I already knew the extent of his teaching in great detail, and his being adamant about historical fact and accuracy, with documentation of both. The required textbook The History of the United States by Alexander H. Stephens added an interesting tone to the class. A.H. Stephens was vice-president of the Confederacy. Since his book was originally published in 1872, the feeling was this gave the class a perspective much closer in time to the actual events, and in much more detail. Mr. Warnke also compiled extensive timelines, handed out at each class, along with detailed information sheets about each president covered in the course. I highly recommend Joe Warnke's history courses...all of them!
